Brush Fire-Exmore

On June 7, 2026, at 1:40 p.m., the Melfa Volunteer Fire Department was dispatched to a brush fire in the area of Sturgis House Road. Chief 31 arrived on scene and found a field fire covering approximately 1.5 acres.

Units B10 and T108 responded to the incident. Upon their arrival, command directed crews to contain the fire line and perimeter. Crews used a booster reel to extinguish the fire. They remained on scene for about one hour.

Once the situation was under control, command advised that all 10 units could return to service.
