| On 11/10/2025 at 18:17 hrs, Station 10 (Melfa) was dispatched, along with Stations 9 (Onancock), 8 (Tasley), 7 (Parksley), 11 (Wachapreague), 12 (Painter), and 17 (Eastville), for a reported working residential structure fire. Initial arriving units confirmed heavy smoke and flames showing from the residence upon arrival. Tanker 108 and Brush 10 arrived shortly thereafter, providing additional manpower and support to the suppression efforts. Crews quickly established an effective fire attack and worked in coordination to contain and extinguish the fire. The incident was brought under control in under 30 minutes, preventing further spread and limiting additional property loss. At the time of this incident, regional resources were already significantly engaged at a major multi-structure fire in Greenbackville involving three homes. Despite these constraints, all responding agencies demonstrated strong teamwork, communication, and professional execution under challenging conditions. We extend our appreciation to all departments and personnel who responded and assisted. Your continued commitment to protecting our communities is recognized and valued. |
