| On 11/20/2025, Melfa Volunteer Fire & Rescue Company units were dispatched to a motor vehicle accident with unknown injuries on Bobtown Road. Engine 105 and Brush 10 responded promptly and arrived to find a single vehicle overturned, with the vehicle resting partially in a roadside ditch and partially in the northbound travel lane. The driver had self-extricated prior to our arrival and was assessed on scene by EMS personnel.
Deputy Chief R. Green established Bobtown Road Command and directed incoming units to secure the area. Crews initiated traffic control to ensure the safety of responders and motorists, using apparatus placement and traffic devices to stabilize the scene. Fire personnel identified active automotive fluid leaks from the overturned vehicle.
The Tow Company arrived on scene and successfully recovered the overturned vehicle. Fire crews remained on location to support the recovery operation, maintain traffic control, and ensure the safety of tow personnel. Once the vehicle was removed and all hazards were addressed, command was terminated and all units returned to service.
We extend our appreciation to all responding personnel and supporting agencies for their professionalism and coordinated efforts. The quick response and teamwork ensured a safe and efficient resolution to the incident. |
