Today, crews from across Accomack County responded to a **fully involved residential structure fire** on Savageville Road after callers reported flames coming from the windows of a home.
Chief 9 arrived within minutes and found heavy fire on the first floor extending upward into the second floor and attic. Due to rapid fire spread and a partial interior collapse, the incident was declared **defensive**, with firefighters operating multiple handlines and Ladder 9โs master stream to bring the fire under control.
The home was under renovation and **no residents were inside** at the time of the fire. A VSP fire investigator was requested due to the suspicious nature of the incident.
๐ **Injuries:** No civilian injuries reported. Two firefighters were transported to the hospital for evaluationโone for an injury and one for a medical event.
๐ฉโ๐ **Responding Agencies:** Stations 7, 8, 9, 11, 12, 13, DPS, Virginia State Police, and ANEC all assisted. A total of **38 volunteer and career personnel** worked for over **4.5 hours** to bring this fire under control.
