By Deputy Chief Randy Green
February 16, 2026

On 02/12/2026, Engine 105 responded with a full staffing of five personnel to the location listed for a reported working residential structure fire. Units responded promptly and arrived on scene to find command operations already established and crews actively engaged in fireground operations. Upon arrival, Command directed the Engine 105 crew to report to the front of Engine 7-3 and stage for assignment. While awaiting further instructions, the operator of Engine 105 was tasked with establishing a draft site at a nearby dock to support the ongoing water supply operation. This critical assignment ensured a continuous and reliable water source, allowing suppression crews to maintain uninterrupted fire attack operations. Shortly thereafter, Engine 105’s crew was assigned to assist with fire suppression efforts. Personnel worked alongside mutual aid companies to contain the fire and prevent further extension of the flames. Following knockdown of the main body of fire, Engine 105 members transitioned to salvage and overhaul operations. These efforts involved identifying and extinguishing hidden pockets of fire, removing damaged materials, and protecting property from additional loss. Their work was essential in ensuring the fire was fully extinguished and the structure was safe. Fire crews remained on scene for several hours conducting suppression, overhaul, and support operations until Command declared the incident under control. Once all assignments were completed and equipment was accounted for, Command released Engine 105 and the crew returned safely to service, ready to respond to the next emergency.
